Common Buzzard While Hunting
The Common buzzard (Buteo buteo) belongs to the hawk family (Accipitridae). With a body length of up to 57 centimeters, it belongs to the medium-sized birds of prey within the genus of buzzards (Buteo).
Males weigh about 800 grams, while females are about 20% heavier at about 1000 grams. The plumage of a buzzard can vary greatly. The coloring can range from dark brown to almost pure white. However, what doesn't vary are the dark wing tips.
The wingspan averages 120 centimeters, although larger birds can reach over 130 centimeters. In flight, the lighter belly and broad, rounded wings can be easily seen. Claws as well as legs and beak base are yellow.
can see one Common Buzzard I photographed recently. I was given only 3
seconds for a photo session. ;)
